The Journey of The Space
A small suite. A vision for community. A continuing journey of Remembering.
The Space began in one little suite, as I was stepping out of a sabbatical that had brought me into a deep and profound experience of oneness with God.
I had spent so much time in stillness, in solitude, listening within. As I began to open my heart to sharing again, I wanted to make room for others to experience that connection for themselves. A place to come into Presence. To be met with love. To remember something within themselves that the noise of life had made difficult to hear.
I could not have known all that would unfold through that simple beginning.
The Space would become a place where I shared what I had come to know, and where life would continue to reveal all that I had yet to see within myself.
Opening my heart to community
There was a vision so strong on my heart. Community. A coming together of people with different gifts, different experiences, and a shared desire to support others on this human journey.
As I opened to that vision, The Space grew into a wellness collective. The physical space expanded. More people crossed the threshold. There were conversations about partnership, possibilities explored, and relationships I hoped might become the foundation for something we would hold together.
Some came for a season. Some became companions along the way. Some possibilities never took the form I imagined they would.
There was so much joy in it.
The love of gathering. The beauty of witnessing someone soften into themselves. The moments of recognition between people who had arrived as strangers. The shared devotion, the laughter, the stillness, and the feeling that something meaningful was being held among us.
And there was pain.
The pain of expectations that were not shared. Of relationships changing. Of discovering that a strong vision on my heart did not mean everyone who entered it was meant to stay, or that we would understand it in the same way.
I was learning how to open my heart to others while also learning where I needed to listen more honestly to myself.

All that was revealed
It would be easy to tell only the beautiful parts of this story. But that would leave out so much of what The Space has meant to me.
There has been karmic clearing. There has been grief. There has been the witnessing of my own ego self, once again, in places I might have believed I had already moved beyond.
My attachments to how things should look. My hopes for what others might help me create. The places where I held on because I loved the possibility of something, even as its reality was asking me to see more clearly.
The profound oneness I had experienced in solitude did not mean I was finished with being human.
Here was the marriage of the mystical with the everyday, asking to be lived through relationships, responsibilities, difficult conversations, beginnings, and endings.
So many people have crossed this threshold. People I have loved sharing the journey with. People whose presence challenged me. And sometimes, both within the same relationship.
I cannot tell their stories for them. I can only speak to what our crossing revealed within me, and honor that each person arrived with a life, a heart, and a journey of their own.

Returning to one little suite
Eventually, the expansion gave way to contraction.
Rooms were released. Relationships changed. The collective took a different shape, and I found myself back in one little suite, spending much of my time once again in solitude with God, Source, Presence.
There was grief in that return. So much love, effort, and hope had gone into what I had been holding.
There was also a quietness I recognized.
I returned carrying everything I had lived. A heart that had opened, hurt, loved, and learned. A deeper understanding of what it means to share a vision with others, and what it means to release the forms it takes.
The vision for community still lives within me. My understanding of how to hold it continues to change.
What these walls have held

Through all of it, the energy and power of this sacred space have continued to reveal so much.
Within this sanctuary, people have been held through tender passages of their lives. There has been room for tears, laughter, silence, uncertainty, and Remembering. Room to arrive as we are, in the midst of this human experience.
I have been held here, too.
Even as I opened the door for others, I was walking through my own passages. Even as I guided, I was learning. I still am.
The Space has always reached beyond its walls. Yet these walls are part of its story, and part of mine. I hold deep gratitude for what has unfolded here, including the chapters I would never have chosen and could not have understood while I was living them.
The story continues to unfold.
And beneath its changing forms, I return to the Presence that was here in the beginning. The quiet communion with God. The love that moved me to open the door.
That love is still here.
